ODD LOT POLAND - PORTUGAL TOUR 2010
Jacques Kuba Séguin, known on the Montreal musical scene as trumpet player, performer, arranger and composer is heading this week with his group the Odd Lot to Poland and Portugal for two weeks tour, thanks to the Tour Grants Program of the Canada Council for the Arts.
 The Odd Lot features six young musicians of different backgrounds, but with a solid experience on the Montreal and other North American scenes: Jacques Kuba Seguin, trumpet composer and band leader; Guillaume Adan, alto & baritone saxophone, flute; Allan McLean, tenor saxophone; Jonathan Cayer, keyboard; Sebastien Pellerin, bass;, Kevin Warren, drums.
 The tour will mainly concentrate on Poland’s jazz scene in seven different cities. The group will perform in such well known clubs like ‘Club Zak’ in Gdansk or ‘Harris Piano Bar Jazz Club’, which is a jazz scene at the Cracow’s famous “Piwnica pod Baranami” (Rams’ Cave). The Odd Lot will also be opening the “Jazz Od Nowa Festival’ in Torun, where the young musicians from Montreal will perform along with such a world renown Polish jazz stars as Marcin Wasilewski, Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski and Michal Urbaniak. In Portugal the group will play in Lisbon’s ‘ONDA JAZZ Club’.
 The Odd Lot’s original repertoire is composed entirely by Jacques Kuba Séguin, the leader of the project, who admits often to his Polish roots and so reaches to Eastern European rhythms and combines them with jazz harmony and electronic music atmospheres.
 The group Odd Lot had recorded two albums: in 2007 Odd Lot (which means in Polish, take-off ), and a 2010 release, entitled Odd Lot-deux tiers.

May was a busy month full of CD release shows. On May 15th, GrooveAttic (www.grooveatticonline.com) released its' debut record entitled Like a Tree.  The album release was held at Club Lambi and featured Dave Gossage ripping solos on his many flutes as well as a string quartet accompanying on a few tracks.  The album will be available soon on iTunes.  The Thundertones released their debut album Out Of Time as well on May 18th at Diese Onze Jazz Bar.  We sold 14 Cd's at the show! Thanks to all that came out.
